The Sabres are a good contender in Hockey. Even though we lose some and we win some, we do pretty well when it comes to playoff time. We are currently in 8th place and we need to stay there, so what are your thoughts about the Buffalo Sabres making the 2011 NHL Playoffs?

I think they’ll make it but they won’t make it past the first round.
That’s the problem with Buffalo, they use the same tactic every year. They play mediocre hockey while praying like hell that Ryan Miller saves everything. And while it seems to work quite well during the season, once the playoffs roll around, you can’t rely solely on your goaltender to win.
This season, if Buffalo makes the playoffs in the 8th spot, they’ll most likely face the Flyers and they simply don’t stand a chance. I know all of Buffalo almost wet themselves after acquiring Boyes but it won’t be enough.
Buffalo is good enough to be a playoff caliber team…but they don’t have the depth to be a Stanley Cup Champion team.

-They don’t have to depth to replace a quality player with another
-Goaltending has been decent at best
-Not enough consistent scorers (with the exception of Boyes)
Buffalo haven’t done well in the previous years but you have to remember that in other years buffalo’s sole goal was to financially break-even and were known to not throw too much money around. With Pegula i don;t see this being are plan and he already has stated it definitely is not, it won’t happen overnight and I don’t think we will do too well this year but in a few years i can see us standing much more of a chance. We need to drop Connolly or re-sign him to a much smaller contract as he the shadow of the player he once was.
