Craig S asked:
I just watched that short overtime between the Canucks and ‘Hawks, another great example of everything that’s right in the NHL playoffs. I’m just wondering, is there anything that can compare to the tension, excitement, relief and joy/pain of overtime in a meaningful hockey game?
lol LITY….good play by Bolland to put a shot on net for the deflection. Always nice to see a team with multiple former Knights win a game.
Frizzer – I’m surprised nobody told you to stick to the baseball section….lol.

not that i can think of…sudden death is it
Nothing compares. All praise the hockey gods there’s no shootout in the playoffs!
Scoring that game-winning playoff goal !! (had 2 this past season in the semifinals)
Stick to bb Fiz, this is hky we haven’t Manny being a ****** named ***** Mandy
GO HAWKS!! I love nhl overtime.
Only overtime in Game 7s of the NHL playoffs.
Extra innings in game seven of the World Series in MLB would come close.
Edit: A bad thing to say in the Hockey section, sorry.
NHL overtime playoffs… are so fun to watch!
Maybe double overtime? or two overtimes like last night.
Unlike Baseball where you have the bottom of the inning to come back if you give up one in the top half, the big attraction to Hockey overtime is the sudden death nature of it. First to score wins and play changes from offense to defense constantly, unlike football. Football comes closest in that an interception or Fumble can result in either team scoring on any given play.
Yes there is, the team you’re cheering for winning in OT, and your team winning the Stanley Cup. Other than that, nope.
Some exceptionally good OT games seen this postseason.
it’s good when the refs are not biased. 8 seconds left, bolland either gets a PS or a penalty called. anything else is canadien BS.
YES, a shootout in the Stanley Cup playoffs!!
Oh wait, Bettman hasn’t destroyed the game completely as of yet. I swear, if he implements the shootout in the playoffs, I stop watching hockey!
.
Nothing better This is what makes sports great and It was a Great Game.
How about an overtime game in the playoffs with a brand new commissioner.. (for both hockey and baseball)
My fav. will always be the series between the Canuks and Flames in 89.
The last thing NHL i=will change is a shootout! A breakaway to win the stanley cup! They should keep it how it is! OLD TIME HOCKEY… CONTINUOS O.T. TO WIN IT! AFTER ALL, THAT IS THE ONLY OLD TIME HOCKEY LEFT IN THE PRESENT GAME!
