The video of a 9-year-old making an amazing hockey goal is becoming very popular. The 9-year-old hockey goal video is an instant hit, because it depicts a kid making an unbelievable shot that most of us who have picked up a hockey stick have not been able to do in our lives. It’s definitely going to make the name of this kid quite famous, and it shows that he could have an interesting hockey career in his future if he can keep on improving. Regarding the trick shot that is drawing so much attention, it even got this nine-year-old on to ESPN Sports Center as part of their Top 10 plays last night.

Max Gerlach is the name of this new hockey phenom, and when you watch the video (linked on page two) you come to realize that it is extremely impressive. Maybe some will call the fact that he made the shot a bit lucky, but being able to pull a 360 on the ice and score a shot on goal is just making a hard task that much harder. It’s hard enough to score on goal with a big goalie standing in your way, but freezing him with an awesome move is taking it one step further. Watching the video, it is even harder to believe that the kid is only nine years old, because it’s a move that I haven’t seen pulled off in the NFL in quite some time. I have heard rumors that Sydney Crosby can do it, but I haven’t witnessed that myself.

In the video of the nine-year-old pulling off the “miracle shot”, he appears to be attacking the goal as if on a penalty shot. The goalie appears to be frozen for a split second as the hockey player makes a move towards the far post, but suddenly spins around, hooks the puck on to the back of his hockey stick, and shoots it basically over his shoulder into the goal. It’s one of those shots that make you watch the video a second and even a third time to fully grasp what you have just seen, and when you are done, you are very impressed with what you have just seen. I know I couldn’t do something like this, so I am in awe of what this kid was able to pull off.

I think that the biggest thing about this video is that Max Gerlach is only nine, and that if he gets better, he could turn out to be an unbelievably talented hockey player by the time he makes it to his college years. Will he even play hockey in college? Or when he gets old enough will it be possible for this kid to make the jump straight from high school to the NHL? Simply watching the video probably isn’t enough information to figure out the answers to those questions, but watching the video of Max Gerlach, he is going to certainly be enjoying his 15 minutes of fame as the internet makes his video viral.
