Their are six players on each side, 3 forwards two defenseman and a goalie.
Their are 3 periods of 20 minutes each.
Most penalties are minor and cause the incurring player to sit out the game for two minutes while his team has one less skater on the ice.
They try to hit the puck into the other teams net to score goals, team with most goals wins.
ok for the team habs hands down. predicted 1st overall in eastern Conference ( 15 out of 30) and have some awsome young guys. now the basic rules are 1. icing – if you shoot the puck down the ice in your half of the ice. 2 – offside your team enters the opponents blue line before the puck does. they are also penalties which are 2 minutes long but if was dangerous it could be four minutes. 1. hooking – u put your stick in his body so its harder to move and have control. 2. tripping – you trip the guy. 3 – delay of game – there are two ways to get delay of game. A. the guy shoots it out of play with no deflections. B. the goalie has the puck behind the net out of the box. (you would see it if you saw a game). 4 – boarding hitting they guy it on the boards while leaving the ice. 5. clipping – this is a rare penalty but its for hitting a gut knee to knee. Then there is a 5 minute major for fighting.

If you’re looking for youth, you should look at the rangers. They used to have allstars but they were like in thier 30s like Jagr and Shanahan, but they have new young players like Zherdev, and Dubinsky. They have a mad nice goaltender the swedish King Henrik Lunqvist.He broke nhl records and hes only 25. The game of hockey isnt only about shooting a puck into a net, u have to have different strategies and u cant play without a gameplan. One thing that i guarantee, is that you can never look to the penguins for youth and talent. Thier only good player is Marc Andre Fluery. And hes not even that good. I will not let you be another victim of the retarded schemes and the p u s s y like actions of the gayguins
dont listen to anybody!!! the penguins rule. they have tons of young players and veterens. AND they almost won the Stanley Cup last year.. ughh! anyways we have Sidney Crosby, who is expected to be the next mario lemuix (or however u spell that) we have Jordan Staal, Tyler Kennedy, Brooks Orpik.. and the most amazing goalie in the world! Marc-Andre Fleuryyyyyy! and the one of the cutest players in the NHL isss Kris Letang! 58 forever!
BTW dont listen to anyone that says anything good about Detroit Red Wings.. i **** them with a passion and they have some of the most ill-tempered, players in the league, and really poor sportsmanship.. ahem…hossa.. cough cough..

I would say whatever team Bettman puts in london but that’s at least a few years off. Seeing how you don’t have a hometown team i would pick the Dallas Stars. Colorful history, legendary players like Modano, Hull, Zubov and Broten AND a host of youngens like Brunstrom, Neal, and Niskinen who are poised to make their mark. We have had our ups and downs but have always enjoyed the successes paid for in hard work. The Stars are hands down the best team in all of sports anywhere in the world.
Don’t listen to all this partisan BS. What you need to do is watch Hockey and decide what team you want to like on your own. As far as the rules, go here for answers.
If you live in the UK, you are probably a soccer (football) fan, did you ask someone what team to like? You have to feel for the team, not pick one by consensus.
